DNC4000®
DNC4000® is
a program
for self-organizing
CNC files,
including
support files
such as tool
preset data,
setup notes,
drawings,
and pictures.
The DNC4000
can be
used
by companies
that
work
with CNC
machines
- companies
such
as part
makers,
tool-and-die
makers,
high-precision
part
makers, job
shops,
etc.
What makes
DNC4000
unique
in the DNC
market?
- The
ability
to directly
connect
all CNC
machines
to standard
networks.
- Program
Load
and Save
is done
from
the
keyboard
of the
control
without
the
use of
any additional
terminals. (When used with Quinx Network Adapters)
- A self-organizing
database
allows
you
to
work with
significant
program
Ids,
such
as
part
numbers
or
design
numbers,
etc.
- ISO-9000 compliant transaction logging.
Network:
Standard-Ethernet
or
Wireless
LAN
Because
all
CNCs
are
connected
directly
to
the
Local
Area
Network,
data
can
always
be
transferred
with
the
highest
transfer
rate.
This
feature
considerably
reduces
the
time
required
to
load
programs
-
without any
risk
of
data
corruption.
Networking
also helps
to avoid "spaghetti
cabling" and
reduces maintenance
costs.
Older controls,
still
equipped
with RS232
interfaces,
need a special
network adapter
(DNC-In-The-Box®)
which is
built into
the cabinet
of the controller.
This allows
you to keep
the RS232
cable to
a few inches
in length,
thus reducing
the risk
of data loss
or data corruption
to an absolute
minimum.
Newer controls
with a built-in
Ethernet
adapter do
not need
DNC-In-The-Box®.
They are
connected
directly
to the network
and can be
served by
the DNC4000
software.
DNC4000
can be used
with
Ethernet
with cables
or wireless
LAN, by using
SCD Network
Adapters.
Protocols
DNC-In-The-Box® uses
the Internet
standards
TCP/IP and
FTP which
guarantee
a safe, error-free
data transfer.
DNC-In-The-Box® even supports
different
protocols
used by some
controls,
such as Heidenhain,
Mazatrol
and others,
thereby,
ensuring
continuous
data flow
on the machines,
even if there
is some network
congestion.
Database
Maintenance
The integrated
database
is self-organizing
and requires
very little
user intervention.
Experience
shows that
a typical
installation
with 25
CNC machines
requires
less than
10 minutes
of human
intervention
per day.
New programs
that are
programmed
either on
the control
or on a CAM
workstation
are automatically
stored in
the right
place and
are only
accessible
from authorized
machines
or machine
groups. Modified
programs
are automatically
compared
to the original,
and, if any
changes are
found, the
changed programs
are moved
to the "Duplicates" where
they can
be verified
by the person
in charge.
A simple
mouse click
displays
all changes
in a modified
program,
allowing
the person
in charge
to choose
within seconds
the valid
version.
All CNC
machines
are displayed
on the screen
and are sorted
by department
and machine
group,
according
to the needs
of the customer.
When you
double click
on a machine,
all of the
machine's
programs
are displayed.
A double-click
on the
program
Id opens
the editor
of your
choice.
Any Windows
editor
can interface
with
the NC programs.
All activities
are logged
- those
from the
operators
on the
machines
as well
as all activities
on the
PCs
- in a
central log.
The
logs are
used for
ISO-9000
certification
as well
as for statistical
purposes.
Sophisticated
Data Management
DNC4000® is
a data management
tool, which
runs on
all modern Microsoft Windows operating
systems.
DNC4000® includes
all functions
needed for
the following
daily operations:

- All
operations
can be
completed
with
a simple
click
of
the mouse.
- No special
training
is
required.

- Automates
program handling,
and reduces
to a few
minutes per
day the time
to keep even
large numbers
of programs
up to date.
